Bring seating capacity, chair clearance and your floor plan together for a table that fits.
Look beyond the number of seats
Seating capacity depends on chair width, table-leg position and comfort expectations. Check the clear span between legs as well as the tabletop dimensions. Test chair positions against cupboards, walls and walkways.
Oval, round or rectangular?
Oval and round shapes reduce sharp corners; rectangular tables can suit long rooms. Shape alone does not save space: consider the total footprint with chairs pulled out. Mark both closed and extended dimensions for an extending table.

Plan for tabletop care
Solid wood, veneer and laminate have different care requirements. Coasters and trivets help protect surfaces. Follow the product-specific instructions for cleaning agents and moisture.
