Solid wood, veneer and paint differ
A wood appearance does not always mean solid wood. Check whether the surface is solid, veneered, laminated or painted. Oils and polishes do not suit every finish; do not apply them without manufacturer approval.
Keep everyday cleaning gentle
Dust with a soft, clean cloth. Blot spills promptly without rubbing, then dry the surface. Check instructions before using abrasives, strong chemicals or steam cleaners.
Watch heat, sunlight and loading
Use trivets for hot dishes and coasters for drinks. Avoid placing furniture beside a heat source. Respect shelf loading limits and follow instructions for door adjustments and anchoring.
